Madhugiri Hills - A Marvel hidden

At 3,930 ft (1,200 m) elevation, Madhugiri is a single hill the second largest monolith in entire Asiabuilt by the Vijayanagar Dynasty its Nestled on its steep slopes is a fort. Antaralada Bagilu, Diddi Bagilu, and Mysuru Gate are the three gateways of the fort. A series of doorways leads to the hill. The ruined temple of Gopalakrishna is located at the top.

Enjoyed this trip as havent seen a sportive and appreciative guy like Keshav Naik in a long time and also a very Humble person like Poomalai Somasundaram who made this trip memorable so dedicate this drive and hike to them to the mighty Madugiri fort which is like 100 kms from Bangalore and might take 4-5 hours to complete the return trek from base to top. Will request guys to do this on early morning and along with this people can cover the Jayamangali black buck reserve which is nearby..

The trek is strictly for fitness enthusiast as its difficult for kids or elders to complete the full trek from top to bottom as its very demanding.

Madhugiri fort is famous for the stone carving as well as the architecture. It was built in the year 1678 by Raja Heera Gowda who belonged to the Ganga Dynasty. Once complete, Hyder Ali added arches, watch towers and circular granaries around the fort. Various rulers occupied the fort and ruled the region. It was also occupied by the British for a short period.
